I followed you over from Jesus Creed, and just wanted to say that I love reading your thoughts on cross-gender friendship.
I also saw you are a student in church history!! That is so cool!!! My husband and I both enjoy church history. I'd love to hear more about the program you're in.
thanks! If you want to see photos of my beloved wife Debbie, and some of my sharp young grad school friends, I have them on my myspace at www.myspace.com/josenmiami
I am trying to practice what Alan Hirsch calls "missional-incarnational" purpose with these lovely young people, both female and male. Along the way, I have had to re-think my views and shed some fears and assumptions. I love it!
Laocoön and his sons from the Illiad. Laocoön was a Trojan priest of Poseidon (or Neptune), whose rules he defied, Athena became angry with him for warning the Trojans not to trust the horse, but to burn it. She sent two giant sea serpents to strangle and kill him and his two sons. The famous marble statute is attributed by Pliny the Elder to the sculptors Agesander, Athenodoros, and Polydorus, and stands in the Vatican Museums, Rome.
